SUDDENLY GRABCAR SAVER SAVED ME THE FARE

 

Tue, 5/12/23.

At 11.20am, I tried to book online taxi from my office at Jalan Ampang. My destination today is to Jalan Pekeliling.

First, I checked Grabcar apps showing the fare is around rm9.30.
Second, I opened and booked inDriver apps. The fare was showing rm10. Since I knew the fare already, so I offered the price of rm7. One inDriver picked up and later cancelled. The drivers offered rm10 and more.
Then I tried booking Grabcar. Suddenly I saw the Grabcar Saver of rm7 only. Walaweh. So I pressed booking and that uncle accepted. He's quite far but I can wait. He's a quiet guy and sent me safely to KL Bistro Jalan Pekeliling.

On the return trip, I booked Grabcar also. The fare is rm6 which is quite cheap. So this chinese uncle accepted me and he's also quite far far away for 11 minutes. So I waited for him. When arrived, he greeted me quite loud. So I asked to slow down the cd he played. But he only slowed it down a bit. Aiyahh. And later he sent me my office safely too.

SUDDENLY I CANNOT USE CASH IN GRAB

Tuesday, 1/8/23.

I arrived at 3. 25am in TBS. Unfortunately I cannot use Grabcar apps. I don't know why they cannot accept cash in the early morning? Is that a new rule by Grab? Someone please explain it to me. Then I struggle to link my maybank account. 

Then I install Air Asia apps. To install it also quiet frustrating.

Finally I reinstall Indriver apps. it's very easy.

The ID driver Is a retire Petronas. trainer. He drives at night after Isyak prayer. He likes drive at night due to slow traffic. He likes to talk to, asking me from where an what I'm doing taking a bus from.

POLIS PENCEN DRIVING ME AROUND

 

Wed, 27/7/23.

I sent my old car to the workshop in BB Bangi today.
Then I booked Grabcar from the workshop back to home.

I got this old man driving Perodua Bezza.
Slow and steady.
He's a pension police officer.

"Sekarang dh pencen, tak tahu nk buat apa kat umh," he said.
"Pas bincang dgn isteri pun sy bawa Grab," 

Although he's living at nearby Sungai Ramal.
So many local road he doesn't familiar to.

The fare was rm13.30.
I gave him rm15 and asked him to keep the change.

Booking grabbike dari hostel ke menara jam Gadang. Dlm perjalanan aku nmpk ada gunung besar sblh kiri dilitupi awan.

Aku: pak, itu gunung merapi ya

Supir: Sambil toleh ke kiri ke arah gunung, kemudian perlahan motor sambil tgk blkg. Eh bukan, Merapi di belakang.. Di sebelah ni Singgalang. 

Aku: Ooh iya.. Tiba2 kagum ada dua gunung berapi besar disekeliling

GRABBIKE & GOJEK DILEMMA IN BATAM INDONESIA

Dear diary.
I know nobody is reading this blog anymore now.
And I'm still working as my professional job in Batam and Jakarta Indonesia.
It's been almost one year here in this country.
Previously I was working for 2 years when the Covid 19 pandemic started with a Singapore company and manage to work in offshore for 6 months in Doha, Qatar.
After that got an offer working in Jakarta (Jul - Feb 2023)..
Now continuing on the same project in Batam since last week.

This morning, I booked a Grabbike from my apartment going to Pelabuhan Domestik Sekupang.
17km - 25 minutes for Rp45,000 (RM14) and using Grappay.
No issue.

When I tried to get another Grabbike from the terminal.
I saw so many taxi drivers waiting outside.
It seems they're not allowing online apps to operate.

I plan to visit pantai Tanjung Pinggir beach.
On the Grabbike apps, it shows very cheapo Rp8,500 (RM2.60).
But when I booked it - nobody accepted.
I tried twice.

The taxi drivers try to persuade me to use their taxi.
But Rp40k (RM12.30) is quite expensive.
The lowest they can offer with a motorbike is Rp15k (RM4.60).

Then I try installing Gojek apps.
When I ordered, the bike rider told me to wait at the halte (bus stop) which is quite far from the terminal entrance.
The Gojek fare is Rp12k (RM3.70).

Reaching the Tanjung Pinggir beach.
I try to deal witht he rider to wait to send me back home to my apartment.
He agrees by using the apps - Rp 52k (RM16).

He waited for me for half an hour.

Later before starting the ride home.
He requested the fare of Rp60k (RM18.50).
I don't agree since the fare is not deducted from the apps company, ie Gojek.

In the evening.
I plan to go to Rusun BP Kabil.

I booked Grabbike again.
But I need to get some cash as I;m almost cashless now.

So I booked it to the nearest Maybank ATM which is located at the Pertamina gas station.
But there's problem with my bank ATM machine.
I cannot withdraw the money.

Luckily I still got few Ringgits.
Then I asked the rider to go to he nearest money changer.
Rp8k (RM2.50) as per apps.

Then he's willing to send me to Rusun BP Kabil without using apps.
Rp34k + Rp8k, total of Rp44k (RM13.55).
Note: Rusun = rumah Susun (flat apartment).

The rider likes to talk as he reckons that I'm from Malaysia.
His previous job in the lawyer firm.

After having meal of ayam bakar at the nearby Jalan Hang Kasturi.
I ordered another Grabbike back home to my apartment.

Rp34k (RM10.50) for 12km, 24minutes.

DRIVING AFTER PENSION TO KEEP MONEY FLOWING

 

Tuesday, 28/3/23.

From Bukit Indah Ampang bus stop, I booked Grabcar. The chinese man with cap driving me to Taman Sungai Besi Indah shoplots. Not talking much. But he turned on the radio with Chinese channel so loud. But I didn't complain. Fare was rm32.30, I gave him rm50+3, and he returned rm20.

On the way return home, I booked another Grabcar. Actually I was waited on the other side infront of 7-eleven. Later he arrived on the same spot at the back of the road. Aiyah. I tried to cancel but it showed that I'll be charged rm3. Damn! Twice I called him but never answered. Quickly I ran towards him and luckily he still waiting there. Pheww.

This uncle like to talk. He used to work with Malay printing company. He liked to work with the company since the boss always gave him bonus for chinese festival especially during Ghost day. But later the Malay owner died and the son sold the company to other people. That's why he's driving Grab. He got 3 grown up kids. The fare was rm17.30 and I gave him rm19. "Ini manyak sangat hoo," he said. But I told him to keep it.

SHE COULDN'T WAIT FOR 3 MINUTES AND NEVER CALLED

 Tues, 21/3/2023.

I planned going to Bangi this morning. I booked grabcar from SK Ampang Campuran. I waited for 11 minutes since the grabcar driver got 1 stopover. But when I check to the last minute, the driver was arrived then suddenly he left me without waiting infront of the school gate. Aiyah.

Then I booked another grabcar. I told the driver about the previous grabcar driver. He also curious. Anyway, he sent me off to Bangi workshop to pickup my cikputih.
