Starting Uber apps at 6.23pm with 110,636km.

6.26pm, HUC a school boy at Starbucks Seri Alam going to Jalan Bunga Kertas Masai. There was a heavy traffic. Instead using the Pasir Gudang highway, I driving through the Jalan Masai Lama.

6.56pm, NUR, 3 pax of young Malay girls at nearby Kipmart Masai. When arrived the apps suddenly end the trips and showed me the calculated fare of RM1.05. But she said her apps is still on trip. So I end my apps and asked them to pay rm5 to send them to Kompleks Pasir Gudang. They dont mind.

7.11pm, FRZ a Pakistani man ping and waiting at the bus station. He is going to Larkin Sentral. When asked why not taking the bus, he said in Malay, "dah tunggu satu jam, bas tak sampai." FRZ liked to talk and talk about his job in Melaka and been to Malaysia for 3 years. His uncle was married to a local Chinese lady but later they were divorced and the uncle was cheated bcoz all the wealth and business here was taken by the ex-wife. So he doesnt the same thing happens to him.

7.50pm, break at Petronas Jalan Datin Halimah Larkin. Pee and pray. Fillup the ron95 for rm30.

8.11pm, TINH Vietnamese amoy at nearby Kenwood factory to send her to Permas Jaya. She spoke good Malay even she just coming to Malaysia for 2 years. "Saya ada ramai kawan Indon satu kerja kat Kenwood," she said fluent Malay. She talked about her husband and the shift jobs and poor agent. She just rejected the previous driver before me bcoz he's an Indian driver. "Saya banyak takut tengok gambar driver lah uncle," she told me. At the drop off location which is inside a guarded factory, after she paid me the fare, I said "cum on," and she replied, "wah pandainya cakap!" I smiled at her, and she smiled back at me. Lol. Later, I found out the she was fined rm5 by Uber due to the previous cancellation.

8.55pm, BON and his bf at Jalan Permas 11/7 going to send laundries at nearby 7-eleven.

9.08pm, MLS at Aeon Permas Jaya. The pin location was wrong at Sushi King entrance, but she was waited at PIzza Hut entrance. Bugima. I sent her to Fair View condo but the pin location again is not set correctly. I told her about the pin location issue and make sure next time to put it correctly. She just nodded. Later, at drop off point, the Uber apps got problem to calculate the fare.

9.30pm, I set destination to home sweet home. Waited for half an hour and got a short nap, but still no ping. I drove straight home.

Dear diary, tonight I completed 6 trips in 3hr 9min. My rating going up by 0.01 to 4.49. Okay lah.

I TAKNAK LU LUGI MAH

Yesterday I was not driving Uber.

Today, Thursday, 20 July 2017, I started the car engine at 7.03pm.

7.05pm, 5min 2.6km ping from 2 local Chinese young men near to 7 eleven and kedai mamak Afrin Jalan Lembah 19 going to Jalan Jelatang 1 Taman Megah Ria. They talked and talked in chinese all the way. I dont understand what they were saying, but the guy who sat next to me always shouting "cheebai cheebai cheebai..."

7.25pm, nearby MLK at Jelatang 4 sending the Pakistan man to somewhere near McD Permas jaya.

Break at Surau Khadijah Bahriyah. Pee and pray.

8.04pm, XIA near the surau send him to Holiday Plaza.

8.29pm, AIL a chinese lady shouting at me on the phone when I called her at nearby Holiday Plaza. Her voice is rough. "Uncle belapa rate?" she asked when opening the back door. I told her it was 1.4. She was going to Tuta (Taman Ungku Tun Aminah) JB. "Okay, uncle nnti ikut Sutera Mall yah," she instructed me. I said I follow Waze. "Nnti sy ajar," she told me still with her rough voice. Later, at dropoff point which was far away from the point she set earlier on the apps, she asked the fare, "belapa?" I looked at the Uber screen, rm16.17, and asked for rm16 only. "Betul kah itu Uber kila? Biasa takde rate 1.0 pun sama harga! I taknak lu lugi mah!" she shouted at me again. I just cool down and told her it's okay, just follow the Uber rate. She paid me and left the car. Dear diary, it's a boost rate not a surge rate, even the rate is 1.4, Uber will pay me the difference. So, I dont have to worry. Unlike the surge rate is where the rider would pay up the extra fare.

9.00pm, XIU amoi at motorcycle workshop going back to her house at jalan Jaya Mas 4.

9.16pm, GRY at Taman Nusa Bestari shouting at me to pick up at Best Mart to pickup his Malay boyfriend. The young man likes to talk too. 30 years old still single, working as restaurant assistant. Putus tunang once, he said. I sent him to JB City Square.

9.49pm, ZIA a Syrian at Galleria Kotaraya send him to Jalan Perisai Taman Sri Tebrau. Stopped at 7 eleven. He left his cigarette lighter on the seat. I called him but no answer.

Break at Shell Pasir Pelangi. Fillup ron95 for rm10 even the fuel indicator shows 1 bar already. I reserved it for Petronas One Year free fuel contest. OTL .. I set destination home to Tesco Seri alam.

10.23pm, HUI amoi at nearby restoran Habib going home at Bayu 1.

No ping until Petronas Taman Rinting. Fillup ron95 for rm30 for the contest. Lol.

Home sweet home. Today I completed 8 trips in 3 hr 36min online. To date, I got 175 of 5 stars rating from riders, personal rating of 4.48, acceptance rate of 94% and cancellation rate of 6%. Okay lah.

6.15pm, ALA at the Flat Tasek 64 busstop. I sent her to Jalan Tasek 13. "Just infront of that Hyundai car," she said. She cannot drive a car, even after her husband's foot kanna potong due to diabetes. "This is my second time using Uber," she smiled, "now got Uber is much easier, not like teksi, always double fare!"

6.48pm, BLL at Regency Hospital going to Dominoe's Pizza Bukit Dahlia.

7.06pm, IDH ping at Kipmart. But actually she was somewhere else. I cancelled and got rm5.

7.19pm, HFZ, an Indon from Lombok and 3 Myanmar at Masai bus station sent to SMK Taman Rinting 2,

7.34pm, AIN at Jalan Balau 5. Two Malay young girls with baju kurung going to beraya at Jalan Tembusu 6. The fare was rm2.75, I asked for RM2, then she shouted at her friend in the house. She paid me rm3. Ok lah.

7.55pm, NLL at Jalan Jering Kg Pasir Gudang Baru with her son. Send them to Taman Rinting.

8.33pm, TTN at Merrybrown Mydin Taman Rinting with her daughter and step-mom. They like to talk too. Her husband is in jail now at Penjara Kluang, asking me whether I am available next week to fetch him and driving them back home. The step-mom was married twice but her kids are kept by her ex-husbands. They were from pulau Pauh Riau. Regarding her jailed-husband, she said he was framed. "Orang lain makan nangka, dia yang kena getah," she spoke out loudly. "We dont have money (RM1500) to bail him out, so he stayed inside the jail for 7 months already," she said sadly. I sent them to Taman Tanjung Puteri Resort.

More than half an hour no ping.

9.57pm, AIN at Satu Gadget Jalan Suria Seri Alam going to Flat Tasek 64, Block G.

Today, I waited until 11.11pm still no ping. Got 6 trips in 4hrs 22min. I called it a day.
This week (mon - friday), there is a promotion - if completed 30 trips will get extra rm90. As I am currently driving Uber partimely, I dont think I am able to catch it.

Starts the car engine and Uber apps at 6.30pm. The mileage of the car is 110,082km. 171 riders on 5 star.

6.35pm, 10min 3.8km to pickup local young chinese couple at Maybank Seri Alam. I sent them to Jalan Nenas 12 Taman Kota Masai. They spoke mix Mandarin, English and Malay. When arrived, the fare was rm11.89, so I rounded down to RM11. The guy gave me RM20 note, I returned him RM9 and he gave me RM1 tip. "Here uncle, kasihan.. nampak banyak penat.., uncle balik rehat.." he told me. Aiyah, he didnt reckon that I started my first trip. I really hope he would give me 5 star.

Break at Petronas Kota Masai. Fillup ron95 for RM33.01.

7.21pm, 11min 4.6km to pickup AKE and his Vietnamese friend at Unnamed road near Jalan Keluli Pasir Gudang. I arrived at the kotai (kongsi double decker for construction workers), AKE with their few construction items. I sent them far far away at Jaln Wong Ah Fook JB near new Suasana hotel? This Vietnamese guy like to talk and talk along the way. He spoke Malay with me. Very good Malay. "Saya dah bnyk tempat pegi Malaysia sbb ikot taukeh buat construction. Vietnam negara kecik dari Malaysia, lebar cuma 55km. Saya ingat Malaysia lagi besar. Saigon ke HCMC naik bas dua hari dua malam. Saya ada dua anak. Sekarang umur 33 tahun takde kereta, takde rumah lagi. Untunglah uncle, anak tua sudah besar sudah kahwin ada kereta ada rumah. Saya sudah malaysia 5 tahun, sblom ni English saja, tapi pandai cakap Melayu the last 2 tahun. Ada kawan Vietnam sini paksa saya cakap Melayu saja. Tak pandai cakap tapi boleh lah. Sekarang keje Malaysia kurang lagi murah. Saya ingat mahu balik Vietnam tahun depan. Duit pun susah mau simpan." Then we talked about the war. Vietnam with France and American. "Bila Malaysia ada war?" he asked. I told him about the Japanese invasion in 1945, and our previous colonialization by Portugese, Dutch and British.

9.01pm, ZAC with his young kids, a boy and a girl at Levis entrance JB City Square. I sent them to M Condo Larkin Perdana. This Malay Singapore also wanted to talk. I layannns. "Sini larkin kalo ada bola memang jem giler. Ada driver tak tahu mana rumah saya sbb gps tak jumpa lagi. Saya sewa apartment ni saja. Dulu ada HDB flat tapi sudah jual. Hari-hari saya pegi keje anak2 sekolah masuk singapore macam ini lah naik bas. Singaporean mana boleh beli rumah sini, saya tak mampu. Najib kan cuma suruh beli rumah landed, teres ke, banglo ke harga RM5 juta!" He raised his eyebrows when I provoked him that the selling price always can be divided by three! Lol. When arrived I saw the young boy sleeping already at the back. They looked tired.

After dropped them off, I drove out to Larkin Sentral. Set the destination to Tesco Seri Alam. Then I got ping from the same M Condo. Demm.

9.29pm, NNA a young Malay girl carrying a wheel baggage accompanied by her boyfriend at the M Condo guardpost. Kiss kiss muach muach good bye. I sent her to Kampung Bahagia Taman Molek. Later she wanted me to send her and her little sister to KTM Kempas Baru. NNA is very friendly and sexy too. I can see her bare buttock whenever she alighted from the car. *Winkwink. On the way to KTM station, she wanted to get into any ATM to withdraw some money. At first, I sent her to Shell Taman Molek but no ATM sighted. Then I drove to HSBC bank, it took her almost 10min on the ATM machines inside. When asked, "tak boleh lah uncle, dah try 2 atm, walopon caj rm4, tak boleh." Then I drove her to nearby Public Bank. "Okay dah boleh," she nodded after returning to the car and sit next to me. But she complained about the unjustified charges incurred by the HSBC. I told her that the BSN ATM machine is worst, ie RM12 per transaction. She looked surprised. "Kalo orglen uncle, they are very stingy and calculated and kiasu. Even a few cents also meroyan. Kalo dorang guna HSBC machine dan tau kene caj RM4 mesti mengamok. Tipikal orglen..." she grumbled and grumbled. "Just like Uber drivers.. for example, kalo tambang RM8.88, drebar kiter selalu mintak RM8.50 atau lapan ringgit saja sudah. Tapi kalo drebar orglen, dorg mintak rm9! No mercy." No lah, I told her. Dont be like that, even uncle also sometimes asking to round up the higher fare. Sometimes uncle cincai also. Tengok mood lah. Later on, at the drop off point at KTM Kempas Baru, the fare was RM27.82. I asked for RM27. She gave me a big note of RM50. "Uncle bagi dua poh ringgit je," she said slowly. Wahlaweh, she gave me a rm3 tip.

Time to call it a day at 10.44pm.

UBER NIGHT WITH SHORT DISTANCE TRIPS

Wednesday, 12 July 2017. Day 2 after insurance and roadtax renewal 2017.

I planned to drive earlier at 6pm today and waiting for my son's car but only arrived at 6.44pm. Aiyah.

6.52pm, 6min 2.4km to pickup SRN at 7-11 Jalan Suria. The young man is on practical training at the car workshop. I sent him to Flat Tasek Blok J.

7.19pm, after dropping SRN, got ping from MMH at the same Flat rumah murah. When called, a guy answered and asked to come to Blok R. When arrived, I called again, a lady told me that the guy is on the shower. "Tengah mandi lah bang, sori ingat lama lagik," she said. I told her I cannot wait and I cancelled. Uber gave me RM3.75 for the trouble.

Break at Petron. Pee and pray.

7.50pm, 8min 2.3km to pickup RMY and his 2 filipino guys at Seri Mutiara apartment. Blok D for donkey. I sent them to PARC Regency Serviced Apartment next to Tesco Plentong.

8.16pm, while still inside the PARC apartment, got ping from CLN. After 5 minutes, I saw her walked outside of the guardpost. She called and screamed at me and screamed back at her. I drove outside, later she come in and said "sorry" nine times. I cooled her down but she likes to smile and laughed. She looks happy. I sent the smily amoi to backdoor of the Permas club malam Spider Bistro & Cafe.

8.43pm, CTJ at D'Ambience Residence Permas. It's a 1.3 surge. I sent the filipino amoi to MU Cuisine cafe next to Hotel masai Utama, next to the Pasir Gudang highway.

9.22pm, marsya ping from the Kipmart Masai. When arrived, I called her 3 times but no answer. So I cancelled and got RM3.75.

Break at Petronas Masai. Pee and wait for a ping.

9.47pm, shafira ping from Kipmart again. 2 young female and 1 young male with kopiah. They are Poli students. When hopped in, the young man directly asked me about my income as an Uber driver. I told him "carik makan" only mah. "Can u survive with cheaput fare?" wahlaweh, this guy looking down at me lah. But I just cooled down and told him that it's better to drive Uber with cheap fare than stay at home crying crying and crying for your naseeb. I sent them at Dewan Serbaguna Taman Scientex.

I set destination to Tesco Seri Alam, and drive home.

10.20pm, ping from LEE at Kipmart again. When arrived and called the number, a lady asked me to drive at the back of the kipmart. 4 young nepalese, which I mistaken for Bangladesh, come in to my car. When inside, the body and armpit smell is intolerable. So I wound down the front windows. I sent them to Pangsapuri Sri Intan.

I switched off the apps and went home sweet home. Tonight I completed 6 trips in 3hr.23min. No surge tonight but I got boost RM5.39 only. Current rating is 4.47 with 171 riders rating me 5 stars.

A NIGHT WITHOUT SURGE

Tuesday, 11 July 2017. Day 1 after insurance renewal 2017.

After work, 6.26pm I started the Uber apps.

6.27pm, the first trip, FLH a young boy at Masai bus station going to Jalan Seluang 30, Tanjung Puteri Resort Pasir Gudang. 10 min and 4.6km to pick up. He is studying at Cosmopoint JB.

While on the FLH trip, 6.48pm got ping from pak MHD at far far away Tanjung Langsat Industrial. 2 Indon, one an elderly from Surabaya and the other one is much younger man from Makassar. They just started working after a long raya holiday. The elder man told me that they use to take a van but now only four workers so they just take Uber instead. He is going back home again to his kampung in Surabaya this raya haji. I sent them both near to Hotel in the Masai town.

Dinner - nasi goreng satay.
Pee and pray at Petronas Masai.

8.17pm, Fatin cancelled the first ping and requested again. After pickup, when asked, she told me that the line is very slow here. 4 student girls going to makan at nearby new restaurant. They talked and laughed and talked.

8.27pm, AMN at Jalan Kenari 12 Taman Scientex going to Kipmart Masai, not Kipmart Tampoi. 9min to pickup the 2 high school teenagers wanted to buy a school uniform. I dropped them at the bus stand just infront of KFC.

9.05pm, 12min 4.2km to pickup DRW and his 2 local Indian friends going to kedai mamak Sayed Kota Masai. On the trip, they insisted me to use the shortcut even after I told them that there would many bumpers on the neighborhood small streets. So cheapskate. Later they paid the trip by credit card.

Take a break. Sleep sleep chicken for 10min inside the car.

9.46pm, got ping from AMN again at KFC infront of the Kipmart where I just dropped them. I sent the 2 kids back home at Taman Scientex.

10.10pm already and I let the apps switched on until inside the Masai town, then I turned it off. Going home sweet home.

Dear diary, tonight I managed to complete 6 trips in 3hr 15min. The fare without surge is cheap but the experience is priceless. OTL

RENEWAL OF UBER INSURANCE COVER NOTE

Saturday, 8 July 2017. After one week of not driving Uber, I just wanted to drive it today.

6.06am. When on the car, I switched on the Uber apps and the screen showing me that there is a pending document, ie the insurance cover note. Aiyah. So I instantly uploaded the cover note and now still waiting for the approval. It may take one day and hopefully I can drive Uber again tomorrow.

Unlike last time which I drove Uber and Grab car as I was a jobless guy, this time I just want to part-timely drive Uber only for fun. 

1.01pm. The status showing that the cover note has been updated on the system. But I still cannot switch on online. Demm. An fb lady driver gave me an Uber chat forum, but when chatted just now the staff wrote he couldnt help me as my account is not on their system. He told me to contact the helpline, but he refused to give the contact number. Lajiao lah.

Later, I reckon that I still need to go to the Uber office to resolve about my account.

Sunday, 9.39pm. After 2 days, the Uber apps still cannot be used yet. Maybe tomorrow I will go to Uber office at Setia Tropika to solve the issue.

Tuesday, 10.25am. Day no. 4 of not online, at Pejabat Urusan Uber JB, I came and the amoy updated my account to be online. Only 5 minutes job.
